Contribution to neutron spectrometry using liquid scintillator and which is applicable to radioprotection

Description
Because an electromagnetic radiation is emitted simultaneously with neutron emission, a liquid scintillor (type NE 213) has been chosen, which reacts selectively with the incident radiation nature. An impulse analysis electronic device allows to separate photon and neutron relative contributions. The different physical process, created in the scintillating medium, give a deformed image of the incident neutron initial spectrum. Consequently, a mathematical treatment, taking into account those numerous reactions together with detector generated perturbations, is necessary to recover the real neutron spectrum and to deduce the fluence

Du fait de la presence simultanee d'un rayonnement electromagnetique accompagnant toute emission de neutrons, nous avons choisi d'utiliser comme detecteur un scintillateur liquide du type NE 213 qui reagit selectivement selon la nature du rayonnement incident. Un montage electronique d'analyse des impulsions permet ensuite de differencier les contributions relatives des photons et des neutrons. Les divers processus physiques, ainsi crees dans le milieu scintillant, se traduisent par l'obtention d'une image deformee du spectre initial des neutrons incidents. Par consequent un traitement mathematique, tenant compte de ces nombreuses reactions ainsi que de perturbations engendrees par le detecteur, est necesaire afin de retrouver la forme du spectre vrai des neutrons et d'en determiner la fluenceFiles
