Ultrasonic attenuation in clean anisotropic superconductors

Description

We calculate the longitudinal ultrasonic attenuation α of clean anisotropic superconductors. The temperature dependence of α depends not only on the density of states and the sound orientation, but also on R = T/sub c//2T/sub F/, where T/sub c/ and T/sub F/ are the transition and Fermi temperatures. Peaks in α(T) can occur for certain orientations if Rnot =0. The asymptotic low-temperature regime is only reached for T<
