Elastic scattering of intermediate-energy protons by oriented nuclei with 1/2 spin

Description
Basing on the multiple diffraction scattering theory a model which provides study of polarization phenomena in proton elastic scattering by spin-1/2 nuclei is suggested. A complete set of polarization characteristics of proton scattering by the 13C nuclei is analyzed. The calculation results satisfactorily agree with the available data at proton energies of 547, 800 and 1000 MeV. The sensitivity of the polarization observables to the form of the nucleon-nucleon amplitude and nuclear density is studied
