Statistical uncertainties in live time and detector efficiencies

Description

A formula for the statistical uncertainty in the live time of a detector system, evaluated using pulser-generated pseudo-events, is derived. A similar formula can be used to evaluate the statistical uncertainty in the efficiency of any of one of an array of detectors. (orig.)
