Synthesis of Iron (III) vanadate from mechanically activated precursors
- 1. Bulgarian Academy of Science, Institute of General and Inorganic Chemistry, Sofia (Bulgaria)
Description
The influence of mechanochemical treatment on the solid state reactions between α-Fe2O3 and V2O5 has been studied. Stoichiometric mixtures of both oxides have been subjected to intense milling in air for different time intervals. A 15 h treatment leads to a drastic decrease of the temperature of synthesis of FeVO4 (from 1073 K to 773 K) Its formation was monitored by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and infrared spectroscopy (IR)
