Radiochemical synthesis of sodium fluoride

  • 1. Center of Oncology, Dept. of Nuclear Medicine, Bydgoszcz (Poland)

Description

Full text of publication follows. Fluoride 18F is taken up in bone in proportion to blood flow and bone metabolism activity. The fluoride ion becomes incorporated into bone as a result of ion exchange. It was known that (18F)NaF has the highest sensitivity in detecting bone metastases. In our department we have performed only FDG PET-CT studies so far. The aim of the study was to obtain the sodium fluoride (18F)NaF suitable for PET-CT diagnostics. (authors)
