Zinc coating mass measurement and control on a continuous galvanising line
Description
An x-ray fluorescence gauge was installed at the Port Kembla plant of John Lysaght (Australia) for on-line measurement and control of zinc coating in the galvanizing process. The gauge differs from most other industrial radioisotope gauges in its utilization of a proportional counter tube and digital counting techniques. The long-term accuracy of the gauge is within +- 1%. (MD)
