Communication Received from Switzerland Concerning its Policies Regarding the Management of Plutonium
Description
The Secretariat has received a Note Verbale dated 3 September 2007 from the Permanent Mission of Switzerland to the IAEA in the enclosures of which the Government of Switzerland, in keeping with Switzerland's commitment under the Guidelines for the Management of Plutonium (contained in INFCIRC/549 of 16 March 1998 and hereinafter referred to as 'Guidelines') and in accordance with Annexes B and C of the Guidelines, has made available annual figures for its holdings of civil unirradiated plutonium and the estimated amounts of plutonium contained in spent civil reactor fuel as of 31 December 2006.
Abstract (French)
Le Secretariat a recu de la mission permanente de la Suisse aupres de l'AIEA une note verbale en date du 3 septembre 2007 accompagnee de pieces jointes dans lesquelles le gouvernement suisse, conformement a l'engagement pris par son pays en vertu des Directives relatives a la gestion du plutonium (figurant dans le document INFCIRC/549 du 16 avril 1998 et denommees ci-apres les ) et aux annexes B et C des Directives, communique les statistiques annuelles des quantites de plutonium civil non irradie et les quantites estimees de plutonium contenu dans du combustible irradie dans des reacteurs civils qu'il detenait au 31 decembre 2006.
