The role of imaging in renal and extra-renal rhabdoid tumours
Description
Rhabdoid tumor of kidney (RTK) is an uncommon malignancy with poor prognosis that usually occurs in childhood. This paper presents two cases of RTK and two cases of extra-renal rhabdoid tumours arising in the head and neck, and discussed the imaging features of rhabdoid in general. Intravenous urography, ultrasonography (US), CT and gallium-67 scintigraphy showed a 95 mm x 80 mm x 60 mm gallium-avid left renal mass without evidence of metastatic disease. Other investigations showed no evidence of pulmonary or skeletal metastases. 64 refs., 4 figs
