Geology and structural relationship between uranium occurrences in the northern part of Gabal Gattar, northern eastern desert, Egypt
- 1. Nuclear Material Authority, Cairo (Egypt)
Description
The study area is located in the northern sector of G. Gattar batholith. It is occupied by Hammamat Sedimentary rocks, younger granite and post granite dykes. It is dissected by faults trending in NNE, NE, NW and ENE direction. The recorded uranium occurrences are controlled by these directions. These occurrences are GI, G11, GV1 and GV. The average uranium controlled by these directions. These occurrences are G1, G11, GV1 and GV. The average uranium contents for each occurrence are 2000 ppm, 8000 ppm 3000 ppm and 1800 ppm. There are distinct structural relations between thesis uranium occurrence. The structure is produced by three successive phases of deformation that lead to the control of the uranium mineralization in structurally controlled locations. (Author)
