Troubleshooting and repair technique for chlorination furnace

Description
troubleshooting and repair have been conducted for the chlorination furnace at the technology process laboratory of PTAPB-BATAN. The troubleshooting is began by checking of the heater element, mechanical switches, electric installation and the temperature sensor. It is found that the heater element has been defective and replacement using nickel wire is done completed as well as: Its electric cable to the element using NYY 2,5 mm including its isolation. The temperature sensors are replaced with a new system as they cannot to be repaired. The repaired furnace has been tested for 8 hours continuously at 1100 °C of temperature. It is concluded that the furnace system can be used for the chlorination process after the repair. (author)
