Description
The author discusses the need for fuel to meet future power demands. In the US the growth of energy demand is such that if this demand is met through the use of coal, some coal may need to be imported and CO2 releases will be greatly increased. Nuclear power systems can help meet this demand but only if there are changes in regulatory policy, improved technologies, and the waste disposal issue resolved in ways that are safe and acceptable to the public
