Gamma camera quality control

Description
The problems of periodic control of gamma cameras used in the radiation medicine are discussed. Basic parameters, such as internal spatial resolution spatial distortion, visual field heterogeneity, counting rate characteristics, dead time, sensitivity and energy resolution of the system em.ployed for camera operation testing are considered. It is concluded that for ensuring a unified system of gamma camera control in radioisotope laboratories the presence of a unified system of control means (phantoms) and documents (records) in which a list of measured parameters and their control periodicity is included is necessary
