Experimental investigations of the long-term performance of spent fuel waste forms
Description
Experiments are underway at Battelle-Columbus which will provide information on the long-term performance of spent-fuel waste forms in deep-mined repositories. These experiments will examine the dissolution of irradiated and nonirradiated UO/sub 2/ and the performance of high-burnup spent fuel and will support development of an analytical model which can be used to assess the release of radionuclides from a breached waste package
