Basic design of 200 kCi ⁶⁰Co gamma radiation sources mechanical drive system in the vulcanization of latex irradiator

Basic design of 200 kCi ⁶⁰Co gamma radiation sources mechanical driver system in the vulcanization of latex irradiator have been done. The sources of gamma radiation used are 200 kCi of ⁶⁰Co with wet storage type of irradiator. The design aims to create a basic design of mechanical driver system of radiation source ⁶⁰Co gamma 200 kCi on vulcanised latex irradiators. The main part of this drive system is wheel, rail, electric motors, radiation source rack, chain and gear. Rails and radiation source rack are placed inside the irradiation room and made of stainless steel. The drive motors and equipment's are placed outside the irradiation room. The drive motor designed is Ac electric motor, 3 phase, ¼ hp, 240 V/60Hz, 1800 rpm with gear box with a ratio of 1:120 rounds. The conclusions are that the design of this drive system have been done with reference to the design requirements. From the results of the mechanical system design is obtained velocity 0.1 meters per second. (author)
