Instrumentation and detector development for nuclear reaction studies
Description
Inter University Accelerator Centre (IUAC), New Delhi is routinely engaged in accelerator based Nuclear Physics experiments, with 15MV tandem accelerator, which require charge particle detectors such as proportional counters, ionization chambers, silicon detectors, scintillators etc. In the scope of the upcoming reaction facilities with new superconducting accelerator at IUAC as well as in other parts of the world, new detector systems for particle identification are being planned and developed based on these detectors with the idea of improving the efficiency, timing, position and energy resolutions. This talk describes the overall charge particle detector development done in the past and development and testing of new prototype detectors at the detector development laboratory of IUAC. (author)
