MC-BWR: A model for microcomputer analysis of boiling water reactor plants

Description

A first-principle model, MC-BWR, has been developed for steady state and transient analyses of boiling water reactor plants on microcomputers. The model includes representations of all major components in the nuclear steam supply system, balance-of-plant and containment. All safety, control, and auxiliary systems relevant to the safe and reliable operation of the plant are also modeled. The model can simulate any of the General Electric boiling water reactor plants of the type BWR/2 to BWR/6, and containments of the type Mark-I, -II, and -III. The process of inputting plant data is very simple and it is very easy to define any steady state or transient scenario for simulation. MC-BWR model is accompanied by sophisticated pre- and post-processors to help users define or modify input parameters, manage input files, set-up model output structures, start model executions, and to analyze output results. MC-BWR model has been tested for various steady state and transient operating conditions and satisfactory results have been obtained
