Possibility of solving the three-body problem by the J-matrix method

Description
On the basis of the J-matrix formalism, a new method is formulated for studying the continuous spectrum of a three-body system. The method essentially relies on the correct description of the continuous spectrum of a chosen two-particle subsystem. It is shown that, for energies above the threshold of three-body breakup, this method is more effective than the method of pseudostates
