Description
During the 1970s, many utilities ordered diesel generators from Transamerica Delaval, Inc. (TDI) for installation at nuclear plants in the USA to provide standby emergency power. 13 U.S. nuclear utilities formed a TDI Diesel Generator Owners Group to address operational and regulatory submitted a proposed program to the NRC which was intended to provide an in-depth assessment of the adequacy of the respective utilities' TDI engines to perform their safety related function.
