The effect of pre-heat treatment on recoil isochronal annealing in Ba(MnO4)2
Description
Pre-heated Ba(MnO4)2 crystals show an increase of initial retention for 56Mn consequent upon (n,γ) activation and a decrease of the sensitivity of the lattice to post neutron recoil isochronal annealing. Vand-Primak model has been utilised to deduce the kinetic behaviour. The present work reveals the role of defects in the transient reactions of the lattice stable precursors and hence further ideas as to the mechanism of recoil reactions. (author). 10 refs
