ABWR evolution program
Description
Tokyo Electric Power Company, jointly with NSSS vendors and Japanese BWR utilities, initiated a program for the new generation LWR development so that it may be available during the 2010's when the early generation LWR's may approach replacement. This program is aimed at the evolution of ABWR further to take advantages of new technological development and to meet possible social changes in the years to come. This paper presents the outline of this program with focus on the utility requirements and candidate technologies. (author)
