Experimental study of the solubilization of various elements likely to be emitted following a serious accident on a pressurized water reactor (P.W.R.)

Description

The solubility of various constituents (Ru02, Ce02, Ag, In203, Fe203) of aerosols released into the environment following a serious accident at a PWR have been studied using four types of natural waters (rain water and soil solutions). Very small quantities of each of the products studied pass into solution. The soluble fraction of Ru02, composed of microparticles of oxide, appears to be more mobile in soils than that of Ag, consisting in part of Ag+ ions

La solubilite de divers composes (Ru02, Ce02, Ag, In203, Fe203) constitutifs des aerosols relaches dans l'environnement en cas d'accident grave survenant sur un REP a ete etudiee dans quatre types d'eaux naturelles (pluie, solutions de sol). Un passage en solution tres limite se manifeste pour tous les produits etudies. La fraction soluble de Ru02, constituee de microparticules d'oxyde, apparait plus mobile dans les sols que celle de l'Ag, constituee en partie d'ions Ag+
