Some preliminary results on actinide incineration and transmutation in a thermal and in a fast reactor

Description

The results of calculations concerning the incineration and the transmutation of monoisotopic fuels consisting originally of Np-237, Pu-238, Am-241, Am-243, Cm-242, Cm-243, Cm-244, Cm-245 and Cm-246 are presented. These calculations have been performed for an LWR and an FBR operating at two different flux levels. The conclusion of this special study is that the FBR burns better the actinides than the LWR with a few exceptions however
