Fluctuations of the radio emission of local sources on the sun based on observations on the RT-22 radio telescope of the Lebedev Institute

Description

Fluctuations of the radio emission of active regions on the sun with a characteristic time T/sub x/ of variation of the signal of from minutes to several hours are investigated on the basis of observations in the millimeter and centimeter wavelength ranges on the RT-22 radio telescope of the P. N. Lebedev Physics Institute, USSR Academy of Sciences (PIAS) in 1972--1980. The time spectra of the fluctuation power is approximated by a T/sub x//sup α/ dependence. It is found that α = 1.4--3.5 at all wavelengths. The amplitude maximum of the fluctuations with T/sub x/ on the order of several minutes is observed at lambda = 1.35 cm. The connection between the fluctuations and various manifestations of solar activity is investigated. Possible causes of the phenomena under consideration are analyzed
