Description
A pair spectrometer has been used to make a detailed study of the 55Mn(n,γ)56Mn reaction. A total of 268 transitions has been observed and most of the intense components have been included within a proposed decay scheme. The agreement between level energies deduced from (d,p) measurements and the present (n,γ) data is excellent. A recently reported technique for analyzing complex spectra has been used to obtain an estimate of the nuclear temperature and to permit the establishment of an absolute intensity scale.
