Electron and proton impact ionisation of the metastable states of helium

Description
Frozen-core Hartree-Fock wavefunctions are used to calculate Born approximation cross sections for ionisation of the 23S state of helium by proton impact and for ionisation of the 21S state of helium by electron and proton impact. The calculations include the processes which leave the He+ ion in 1s, 2s or 2p states and also autoionisation. (author)
