Description
In this report, we use FLEXPART combined with the meteorological data, provided by National Centers for Environmental Prediction (NCEP) for simulation of atmospheric dispersion of radioactivity from Fukushima Daiichi nuclear accident with the input parameters by Stohl et al (2012). FLEXPART is a Lagrangian transport and dispersion model suitable for the simulation of a large range of atmospheric transport processes. We then compared simulated with observed results of atmospheric concentrations of radionuclides from the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear accident in Vietnam (Long et al., 2012). The results showed that FLEXPART is a suitable modeling instrument for prediction of the long-range radioactive materials transported to Vietnam in case of nuclear accidents in the future. (author)
