Filtering reactor exhaust air, identification of iodine compounds in reactor off-gases

Description
First studies on the development of a discriminating sampler for selective removal of fission iodine components are described. The results of further work on investigations of the volatility of hypoiodous acid are indicated. Measurements of the loading of iodine filters in nuclear power stations with pollutants and its effects upon the removal efficiency are outlined. The results of in-situ tests of iodine filters in nuclear power stations and of laboratory tests of the sorption material from iodine filters are covered. (orig.)

Ueber erste Arbeiten zur Entwicklung eines diskriminierenden Probensammlers zur selektiven Abscheidung von Spaltjodkomponenten wird berichtet. Die Ergebnisse weiterer Arbeiten zur Untersuchung der Fluechtigkeit unterjodiger Saeure werden wiedergegeben. Ueber Messungen zur Schadstoffbeladung von Jodfiltern in Kernkraftwerken und ihre Auswirkung auf den Abscheidegrad wird berichtet. Die Ergebnisse von Vor-Ort-Pruefungen von Jodfiltern in Kernkraftwerken und von Laborpruefungen des Sorptionsmaterials aus Jodfiltern werden wiedergegeben. (orig.)Additional details
