Methods of analytical control of special-purity tellurides of zinc, cadmium, mercury, tin, and lead and their solid solutions used in optoelectronics

Description

A wide range of methods for the multi-element analysis, separation, and control of dopants and impurities in the solid solution tellurides of zinc, cadmium, mercury, tin, and lead is reviewed. The methods include x-ray fluorescence analysis, photoelectron spectroscopy, neutron activation analysis, extraction and ion exchange chromatography, titration, polarography, spectrophotometry, and thermogravimetric analysis. Sample preparation and component separation techniques are discussed along with appropriate reagent use. Among the elements determined are beryllium, scandium, hafnium, zirconium, yttrium, and lanthanum. Instrumentation is also reviewed
