Application of nuclear analysis techniques in the study of environmental pollution in the vicinity of Shanghai

Creators

Description

Aerosol samples have been collected from the Shanghai area and subjected to PIXE analysis. The results show that there is a serious level of air pollution around the Guichi lead-zinc smeltery. In addition, X-ray fluorescence analysis of hair samples from smeltery workers shows that the samples contain significantly higher (3-fold) lead concentrations than do samples from unexposed workers. 5 refs, 3 figs, 4 tabs
