Description

I argue in favour of using, for resolved resonances (RR), energy averages of observables in compound-nucleus (CN) reactions to set bounds on the strength of a parity- (P-) even time-reversal- (T-) odd nucleon-nucleon interaction. I show that an observable of this type exists, which, if measured to the accuracy of previous detailed-balance studies, could be used to lower the bound by an order of magnitude. (orig.)
