Eigenvalues basic to diffusion on a hollow cylinder without azimuthal symmetry

  • 1. North Carolina State Univ., Raleigh (USA). Dept. of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering

Description

The eigenvalues needed for the computation of transient heat or mass diffusion in a hollow cylinder without azimuthal symmetry are calculated. The first 10 eigenvalues are tabulated for the convention boundary condition at the outer and inner surfaces for several different values of the radius ratio, the Biot number and the separation constant associated with the azimuthal variation.
