Demand for OSART missions increases

Creators

Description

The work of the IAEA's Operational Safety Review Team (OSART) is described in detail. By the end of 1988 some 29 OSART missions to assess operational safety at nuclear power plants will have been carried out. The first OSART visit to a Soviet reactor - Rovno3 - was scheduled to take place in December 1988. OSART is one of four main components of the IAEA's approach to promoting feedback of nuclear plant operating experience. The other three are: the Incident Reporting System (IRS), the Assessment of Safety Significant Events Team (ASSET) and the operational Safety Indicator Programme (OSIP). (U.K.)
