Electronic Raman scattering under high-pressure in SmSe

Description
Measurements of the 7F0→7F1 excitation of the 4f6 configuration by Raman scattering under high pressure are reported. There is no change in energy or width up to 32 kbar where the peak vanishes. Its softening in alloy systems was identified to be due to additional electrons introduced by the substitution. (orig.)
