On the vibrational instability of Wolf-Rayet stars
Description
An analysis is made of the radial vibrational stability of massive star models produced by Maeder (1990) evolving with mass loss at observed rates. In agreement with Maeder (1985) and Cox (1988), stellar evolutionary models at the stage of Wolf-Rayet stars have a pulsationally unstable radial fundamental mode. The adopted mass loss rates and opacities determine to a large degree the stability analysis results. 9 refs
