U, Th and Bi fission induced by protons of 600 MeV
Description
The measurements of U, Bi an Th fission cross sections induced by protons of 600 MeV were carried out, using nuclear emulsion techniques. The targets were prepared from KO Ilford type emulsion using solutions of U, Bi and Th complexes for its loading. The proton beam of 586 +- 5 MeV and integrated flux of 1,6 (+- 4,890)X1011 protons from CERN Synchro-Cyclotron was used for irradiating nuclear emulsions. The integrated flux was carried from aluminium desintegration curves by Al22 (p, 3pn) Na24 reaction. The fission events, were observed using Leitz microscopy and the statistical error of 10% were calculated. (M.C.K.)

A medida da secao de choque para fissao do U, Bi e Th, induzida por protons, na regiao de 600 MeV de energia, foi realizada usando tecnicas de Emulsao Nuclear. Os alvos foram preparados a partir de emulsao tipo KO Ilford usando em seu carregamento solucoes de complexos dos elementos em estudo. O feixe de protons empregado na irradiacao foi o do Sincro-Cicloton do CERN com uma energia de 586 +- 5 MeV e um fluxo integrado de 1,6 (+- 4,8%)X1011 protons, cuja determinacao foi realizada a partir das curvas de desintegracao do aluminio atraves da reacao Al22 (p,3pn)24Na. Os eventos de fissao foram observados usando-se o microscopio Leitz, e calculou-se um erro estatistico de 10%. (Autor)Files
