Generation and measurement of ultrashort electron beam for applications

  • 1. Osaka University, Institute of Scientific and Industrial Research (ISIR), Osaka (Japan)

Description

Femtosecond pulse radiolysis, which is a powerful tool for the observation of electron-beam-induced ultrafast reactions, has been developed in ISIR, Osaka University. In order to improve the time resolution of pulse radiolysis, electron beam diagnostics based on coherent transition radiation from electron beams were studied. Applications of the electron beams to ultrafast pulse radiolysis were discussed from the viewpoints of S/N ratio and time resolution. (author)
