Analysis of 89,90Sr in soils and biological materials by extraction with dicyclohexyl-18-crown-6
Description
Extraction of Sr radionuclides and accompanying impurities from model HNO3 solutions and solutions obtained by leaching actual soil samples is studied. The macrocyclic polyether dicyclohexyl-18-crown-6 is an effective and highly selective extractant for Sr from 2-3 M HNO3. Co-extraction of 106Ru, 144Ce, and 137Cs can be reduced by shortening the phase-contact time during extraction and scrubbing the organic solution. The optimal conditions for isolating Sr in analyses of soil, grain, and reprocessing products are found
