Φ-p→φon cross sections in the region of the Δ resonance
Description
π-p→π degrees n differential cross sections were measured in the region of the Δ(1232) resonance, using the new Neutral Meson Spectrometer (NMS) at LAMPF. A beam monitoring system consisting of an ion chamber, muon monitor arrays, and sampling grid scintillators (SGS) were used to determine the pion flux. The SGS was also used to measure the electron contamination by TOF with respect to the rf. The energies were selected to coincide with the TRIUMF differential cross section measurements of π±p→π±p. Preliminary results will presented
