Graphite-moderated nuclear reactor
Description
The inside of a reactor pressure vessel is filled with a low pressure inert gas or maintained under vacuum. Then, since nuclear reaction heat generated in the reactor is transferred by thermal conduction to a steam system directly not by way of a helium gas recycling system or a primary system conducted so far, the recycling system for the helium gas is no more necessary, and since it is no more necessary to elevate the pressure in the pressure vessel of the reactor to a high level, the structure can be simplified and the weight can be reduced.
