Rare ΔS=-ΔQ decays in chiral perturbation theory
Description
We calculate, to leading order in chiral perturbation theory, the amplitude for the second-order weak decay K0 → π+e-anti v. We find the ratio of the amplitudes vertical strokeA(K0→π+e-anti v)/A(anti K0→π+e-anti v)vertical stroke≅7.0x10-7. We compare this to a recent calculation of the same decay performed using quark operators and vacuum insertion approximation arguments, and find that our result is almost a factor of four larger.
