Description
Abnormal high values of the heat transfer coefficient inside a laboratory still were measured when the heating is non stationary. With the aim of showing the presence of a chaotic behaviour of the still high frequency measurements were performed. The chaotic characteristics manifest as oscillations in the water heating and distillate production, as well as in the heat transfer coefficient. The results allowed to identify characteristic frequencies in the Fourier spectrum of the water temperature, of the heat transfer coefficient h and of the distillate and to analyze the growing rate of h, opening the possibility of knowing the heat transfer control mechanisms in other solar systems
