A panorama on research, 2009

This report proposes an overview of ADEME (French Agency for Energy Conservation and Management) sponsored research activities oriented on advances in terms of energy savings and protection of the environment in different sectors (in 2009): transports (improvement of conventional vehicles, and of knowledge on their emissions, mobility prospective, alternative vehicles), building (development of design tools, of components and equipment, environmental and healthy quality, market, actors and decision process analysis), production of electricity from renewable sources, bio-energies and bio-products (biofuels, wood-energy, geothermal energy) and intelligent networks and energy storage (introduction of renewable energies in transport and distribution networks, improvement of network energy efficiency, improvement of knowledge of the current and future electricity demand), eco-technologies and clean and low-consumption processes, impacts of air, soil, waste pollution, and associated monitoring, and sustainable perspectives
