Near-barrier reaction of heavy ion incomplete fusion

  • 1. AN SSSR, Leningrad. Inst. Yadernoj Fiziki

Description

The purpose of the work is establishment of optimum energy of relative motion of colliding nuclei for obtaining maximum cross section of final nuclei formation with excitation energy not exceeding some MeV in incomplete fusion. Taking as example the 181Ta(22Ne, α)199Tl reaction the quantitative analysis of the stripping of t heavy fragment in the region of near-barrier energies of the bombarding ion Esub(lab)sup(Ne)=80-150 MeV is performed. The problem what determines the cross section of the given final nucleus formation in the I+A → a+t; B=A+t is considered in detail. The following conclusions are drawn. The incomplete fusion cross section with the formation of the given B final nucleus is sharply decreased with inreasing mass of the transferred t fragment and heigh of the Coulomb barrier of the t+A system. The t+A least symmetric systems with the highest energy of the above particle fission in ground state are optimum systems
