Coprecipitation processes and solid solutions in the chemistry of plutonium and neptuni.um
Creators
Description
Using the study of Np and Pu coprecipitation microquantities as an example, the main conditions to ensure effective concentration of the elements are determined. It is pointed out that in the optimum conditions of coprecipitation the values of Np and Pu distribution coefficients can be as high as 108 cm3/g. The processes of U and Pu coprecipitation, as applied to mixed nuclear fuel production on the basis of solid solutions in the U-Pu-O system, are considered. Formation conditions, existence ranges and structures of the solid solutions mentioned, are discussed
