MR tomography of tetralogy of Fallot

Description
We present four patients with Tetralogy of Fallot, imaged with magnetic resonance. MRI is useful in clearly depicting the dilated ascending aorta, the infundibular stenosis, ventricular septal defect, right ventricular hypertrophy and dilated bronchial arteries. The pulmonary outflow tract can be visualized better with MR imaging than with ultrasound. (orig.)
Abstract (German)
Anhand von 4 Patienten werden die Moeglichkeiten der Kernspintomographie bei der Bildgebung der Fallot-Tetralogie eroertert. Die Darstellung der dilatierten Aorta ascendens, der eingeengten pulmonalen Ausflussbahn, des Ventrikelseptumdefekts der Bronchialarterien und der rechtsventrikulaeren Hypertrophie ist moeglich. Vor allem die pulmonale Ausflussbahn kann durch die KST besser als mit dem Ultraschall beurteilt werden. (orig.)Additional details
