Description

A new method for the calculation of the γ-ray line-shapes observed in Recoil distance Doppler-shift and Doppler-shift attenuation measurements of nuclear lifetimes is presented emphasizing the case where a gate is set on a transition feeding directly the level of interest. A better fit of these coincidence spectra leads to a more precise lifetime determination when using both the traditional approach of representation of the time-population of the level with a superposition of exponential functions and the Differential decay-curve method
