Description

The treatment of substituted 2-hydroxy benzaldehydes with 2- nitro ethanol supported on anhydrous potassium carbonate, in presence of catalytic amount of tetrabutylammonium bromide (TBAB) leads to the synthesis of 3-nitro-2H chromene derivatives by a solvent less phase-transfer catalytic (Ptc) reaction under microwave irradiation.
