Free-Convection Along a Vertical Plate With Variable Surface Temperature
Description
The unsteady two dimensional free-convection flow of an incompressible viscous fluid past an infinite vertical plate for impulsive and accelerated motion of the plate is discussed, when the plate temperature varies with time. the governing equations for the fluid flow and heat transfer are solved subject to the relevant boundary conditions. Developing asymptotic expansions in powers of time solves the problem. The perturbation technique is used to obtain the expressions for velocity, skin friction and Nusselt number. Special attention is given to the characteristic features of the flow, heat transfer, skin friction and the Nusselt number at the plate
