Studies of retention in (n,γ) irradiated organoiodides
Description
Retention studies were carried out in (n,γ) irradiated p-nitrobenzyliodide, p-chlorobenzyliodide and p-iodo-aniline in solid state and in 0.1M solution in benzene. Rate constants for substitution reaction of 128I were determined. Gamma radiolysis of these compounds in solid as well as solution state indicate scission of C-I bond. G(I2) values correlate well with the retention data and structural factors of the organoiodo compounds. (author). 7 refs
